When Paul sent me your bag and explained the story behind the old California-made Salsa MTB and the #CascadeCougar project, I was thrilled to accept the bag creation challenge. After being given creative freedom, I began to ask questions to garner the driving force for my slice of the project.

Besides the fact you were making bags before I was born. How could a bag carry so much history and still belong to the original Chico rider? 

This is when it hit me.. We don’t just make bags… We create a companion to experience the world of cycling together.

This re-creation of a tried and true Gnass Gear bag will be mounted to @blackcatbicycles Salsa inspired frame, and displayed @made.bike leading up to the @oakridgetrailsalliance fundraising raffle. 

This bag pays homage to a time before social media, and the plethora of bag makers within the cyclist's digital reach.

Now with honor, Gnass Gear will live again!

So Gnass, wherever you are. Shine on you crazy diamond.
